The basics of fieldstone patio construction allows for construction in nearly any location of your home, but there are areas that are more preferable than others. Ranging from the appropriate surface to the proper drainage of the area, choosing the right area for your Northern Virginia fieldstone patio is key to enjoying it for many years.
Selecting an area with a good surface should be your first determining factor. You are unlikely to find enough natural fieldstone patio materials in the same thickness, so instead, focus on finding a location in your yard that is already level. Fieldstone patios are constructed with pieces, also referred to as slabs, of fieldstone that vary in size and shape. The irregular shapes and color variations of the fieldstone patio are often what attracts homeowners to the materials and end appearance.
